New Album Coming this August!

I’m so excited to announce the upcoming release of Mantra Brothers’ debut album INVOKE on August 15th! Mantra Brothers is the band my brother Jeremy and I created as a vessel for our love of mantras and music. We can’t wait to share it with you all! We grew up playing music each in our own field- he in Jazz and me in Classical. But as time moved on, our mutual love of improvising gradually brought our sounds together. Later, we both got deeply involved in yoga, meditation and chant. Jeremy started writing some chants of his own which were really great and we got inspired to record an album of his and my own songs, all settings of mantras. The resulting recordings involve some of New York’s great musicians, along with Jeremy’s gorgeous horn playing and voice, his daughter’s beautiful vocals, and my vocals and cello, all atop a base of African and Indian percussion. I’ll keep you up to date as the release approaches! Thanks for all your love and support. 🌹🙏🏻❤️ Beautiful photo by DJ Pierce

My Teacher in GQ Magazine Holiday Issue!
Dr.Richard Alpert-The Unified The Ory Of Ramdass-GQS-Holiday-111518-03.jpg

A really great article about my teacher Ram Dass in this month’s holiday edition of GQ Magazine. Ram Dass was a cellist himself before a stroke left him partially paralyzed. RD has taught me how to love myself and, in the process, pointed me in the direction of loving everyone. I’m eternally grateful for everything he’s ever given me. Learn all about his quirky sense of humor and penetrating awareness, his generosity and amazingly inspirational renegade spirit, here. if you’d like, let me know what you think in the comments below! Moving Forward
IMG_0355.JPG

This is a photo I took while walking a road through the mountains this weekend. Moving forward isn’t always easy but it’s something we must do. We feel called from the beyond to emerge from limiting spaces into a broad openness we intuit, but can’t yet say we know. What calls us is unknown, but it’s voice is heard nonetheless... it’s time to move on.
